The Challenge

Cosford Caravan Park sits in a semi-rural location that had long been underserved by traditional broadband infrastructure. The park was running on ageing ADSL that peaked at just 4Mbps — barely enough to keep the front desk running, let alone support the expectations of modern holiday guests. Staff were unable to reliably process online bookings, card payments would intermittently fail, and guests complained constantly about the lack of usable WiFi. The park had tried two previous ISPs without success and was losing repeat bookings as a result.

Our Solution

Telecom Central carried out a full site survey to assess signal angles, structural obstructions, and the layout of the caravan pitches. We specified and installed a commercial-grade Starlink Business dish mounted at the optimal elevation, with a hardened outdoor enclosure to handle the exposed site. From there we designed a park-wide WiFi mesh using Ubiquiti access points distributed across the site — covering static caravans, touring pitches, the reception, and the amenity block. Each zone was segmented so guest traffic was kept separate from staff and business systems. The whole network was placed on a managed monitoring platform so we receive alerts before guests even notice a problem.

The Outcome

Within days of go-live the park was achieving consistent speeds of 200Mbps+. Online bookings became reliable, card terminals worked flawlessly, and the owner reported an immediate drop in connectivity complaints. By the following season guest review scores had improved noticeably, with internet quality highlighted as a positive in multiple reviews. The park now runs its CCTV, booking software, and guest WiFi all from the same infrastructure — managed remotely by Telecom Central.
