Avaya IP Office System Crash

Telecom Central received a call from a large utility company in Telford with five offices across the UK and more than 500 handsets. The business had a major problem with its Avaya IP Office telephone system after adverse weather caused lightning to strike the system, blowing up two cards and leaving 230 handsets at one location out of action.

Telecom Central attended site within the hour and diagnosed the fault. By the following morning the required parts were sourced, and the team had the customer back up and running by midday.

They then advised and trained the customer to take regular backups so no information would be lost in future. Although the business did not have a maintenance contract in place, Telecom Central still recovered the original configuration and later began discussions about a maintenance package. Raj, the IT manager, said Telecom Central ‘saved our bacon’.
